‹Enable trust› is an installation of plexiglass walls installed in places of transit. The slogan is adopted from a company in Lausanne, Switzerland, that I am investigating. They produce security colors that are used in identity documents like passports. The work talks about the absurd use of language: ‹trust› is an acceptance of the truth of a statement without evidence or investigation. To ‹enable› trust is a violent, enforcing act of an industry to produce a ‹false› trust – trust in a system of control and surveillance in which we live in.
